Fútbol in Quito.

I can’t believe it, I just got called to play soccer with some 18 year olds, and there were four of them. I was so scared that I nearly pooped my pants. I was telling my dad I’m not going over there. He was saying, “It’s going to be a great experience,”. I didn’t like that. When I come to think of it, it was a great experience. The first thing that we did was two v two. I was on the team of the guy that called me over- us against the other two. We didn’t need to keep score so we didn’t. If we did, my team would have crushed the other team. The other team didn’t go very hard because they knew that I was a lot younger than them. They asked me how old I was, and what my name was. I didn’t feel like asking them what their names were because I was super shy. The second thing that we did was juggling, but you had to pass it to another person. It was really hard but I did ok, it seemed like they had done it lots before which was very noticeable. They passed it in the air like it was nothing. Finally the third thing that we did was monkey in the middle. There was this one guy, I don’t know his name, but he kept going in the middle. I went in the middle the second most. It was one of the most fun experiences of my life.

We were walking to the church because we were going to go to a museum, but it was closed because it was Sunday, which meant that it was the day to go to church. When we got to the church we had to pay $2 dollars per person. It wasn’t too bad. From the outside you could see two tall towers and there were people in them. We said we want to go there. So we gave the man our tickets and were off. It seemed like the stairs never ended. When we finally go to the top of the stairs there was a super steep ladder, almost straight up and down. It was sort of scary going up because the gravitational force was pulling you down. But I made it up safely… OMG there was two more sets of those scary things. I still made it up safely.

We took lots of picture at the top of the first one. After we were finished we had to go down those things. Next we had to go to the second tower. For the second tower, we had to go up a spiral staircase that was really skinny. My dad almost hit his head multiple times. We also passed an enormous clock. When we got to the top we took a lot of pictures. It took a long time to go down. When we got to the bottom we ate lunch. It was a really cool church.

  4. Great story little man! Play as much soccer as you can, you’ll remember those experiences the rest of your life, I promise. Even this old 40 year old guy remembers playing with guys in Scotland, Nicaragua and everyday after school. I have no idea where my keys or wallet are, but those memories will last forever. Say hi to everyone for me. Love Uncle Ryan
